Photovoltaic system Micro-grid 14 kWp
High efficiency agricultural micro-grid
The modern agricultural sector requires not only productive solutions, but also sustainable infrastructures capable of ensuring the continuity of the activity in any conditions. In this context, investments in micro-grid photovoltaic systems become essential for farms that aim for energy independence, optimization of consumption and reduction of the carbon footprint.
A concrete example is the implementation of a 14 kWp photovoltaic system, carried out by the EcoSolaris team on a farm in Romania. The project demonstrates how solar technology can be adapted to the needs of agriculture, offering a robust, scalable and efficient solution in mixed working mode - on-grid and off-grid.
Solar energy for agriculture: why a micro-grid?
For a farm, electricity is not just a resource, but an essential element for the daily operation of equipment, irrigation systems, air conditioning and automated processes. A micro-grid photovoltaic system provides grid independence, stability and control over consumption, essential aspects in an environment where power outages can generate significant losses.
Top equipment adapted to the rural environment
The installed system is composed of the following equipment:
- LONGi panels of 445 W, recognized for high performance in variable light conditions;
- The K2 Systems support structure ensures durability and safe installation, regardless of the type of roof or terrain;
- Victron Energy inverters - The heart of the system consists of three Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000 inverters;
- Fronius Symo Advanced 15-o-3 inverter, for efficient hybrid energy management;
- The storage is realized by three accumulators LiFePO4 Ecosolaris, each 15 kWh, which offers over 6000 cycles of use, guaranteeing extended autonomy and reliability in operation;
- DC distribution is managed by Lynx Distributor și Lynx Power In, with additional protection by a two-string DC panel;
- Monitoring is done through Cerbo GX – an intelligent platform that allows tracking the performance of the system in real time, locally or remotely, giving the farmer complete control over energy flows.
Implementation stages – from analysis to autonomy
The installation started with a detailed energy audit, followed by the customized design of the system according to the needs and specifics of agricultural activities. Mechanical and electrical assembly was carried out in parallel, with seamless integration of panels, control equipment and storage system. Cerbo GX configuration allowed real-time optimization of operating parameters.
After commissioning, the system was tested and calibrated, and the customer received full support in learning to use the monitoring platform.
Solving challenges in the field
An agricultural project always involves specific challenges – from uneven terrain to fluctuating energy demands. The chosen technical solution allowed an adaptable installation and stable operation. The integration of the Victron inverters with the Fronius inverter was done without any problems, and the storage capacity was configured to cope even with low production days.
Concrete benefits [#$$#]
Our customer now benefits from a major reduction in energy costs, near-total autonomy in day-to-day operation and easy scalability should the farm's energy needs grow. Through the Cerbo GX platform, any fluctuation, malfunction or unusual energy behavior can be identified and remedied in a timely manner.
Simplified maintenance, durable performance
The system requires minimal maintenance: the LONGi panels are cleaned regularly, the EcoSolaris batteries do not require frequent interventions, and the Cerbo GX inverters and system have automatic updates and intelligent alerts. A full annual inspection is recommended to ensure optimal operation.
This project demonstrates the applicability of solar energy in agriculture and the efficiency of micro-grid systems for areas with limited grid access. With an architecture designed for autonomy, reliable equipment and full technical support, this system becomes a role model for farms that want to invest in the future.
