Phoenix Inverter Victron — stand-alone inverter without charger, for situations where you only need simple DC→AC conversion. Here's everything you need to know to make the right choice.

1. When Phoenix Inverter is suitable

Unlike MultiPlus, which is an inverter + charger + transfer switch, Phoenix Inverter only does DC→AC conversion:

  • Pure off-grid cabins (no generator, no grid)
  • Caravans with separate charger
  • Micro-inverter systems for AC injection
  • Minimal backup with LiFePO4 battery already charged

2. The advantage over MultiPlus

  • 50% cheaper at the same power
  • More compact, lighter
  • Slightly higher efficiency (~97% vs 96%)
  • Fewer settings — fewer things that can go wrong
  • Warranty 5 years

3. Recommended models

ModelPowerPrice
Phoenix 12/250200W~125 €
Phoenix 12/12001000W~360 €
Phoenix 24/16001300W~410 €
Phoenix 48/30002500W~720 €
Phoenix 48/5000 Smart4500W~1.100 €

4. Limitations to be aware of

  • It does NOT have an integrated charger — batteries are only charged from separate PV/MPPT
  • It does NOT have a transfer switch — cannot be powered from the mains/generator
  • It does NOT accept AC input — purely unidirectional DC→AC

If you need any of the above functions, you choose MultiPlus.

Conclusion

Victron Energy remains the gold standard in solutions for serious photovoltaic systems. At EcoSolaris you can find the entire Victron range with local stock and technical support in Romanian. See all Victron products or contact us for consultation.
